Interests: Novel metals such as superconductors, semiconductors, and insulating materials with novel magnetic or electronic characteristics, multiferroics and topological insulators. Multiferroics are insulating materials which have both magnetic and electronic order, and hence the possibility to provide a medium in which to create, for example, electrically addressable magnetic memory. Techniques: Spectroscopy of novel materials covering a fairly wide range from far infrared into ultra violet (from 10 cm-1 (1 meV) to about 6 or 7 eV).
